The Costa Blanca Climate: Sunshine All Year Round

For many buyers the climate is the main reason to look at the Costa Blanca. And rightly so: with more than 300 days of sunshine a year and mild winters, the region is among the most pleasant in Europe. The World Health Organization has even named its climate one of the healthiest in the world.
The seasons in brief
Summers are warm and dry, with temperatures approaching 30 degrees in July and August, tempered by the sea breeze. Spring and autumn are pleasantly mild and ideal for walking, cycling and golf. Winters are gentle: often 16 to 20 degrees during the day, although evenings can be cool and good heating indoors is no luxury.
Why it makes a difference
That mild climate has practical advantages. You can live outdoors almost all year, the tourist season is long, and anyone wishing to rent the property out benefits from a generous rental period. The gentle weather also counts for your health: many people find that complaints ease in a warm, dry climate.
When is the best time to come and view?
Every season shows a different side of the region. Our advice:
- Spring and autumn: the most pleasant weather to view at your ease and explore the surroundings.
- Summer: you experience the buzz and atmosphere of high season, useful if you plan to rent out.
- Winter: you see how a town feels out of season and how a home holds up in cooler weather.
